River Trekking
In order to promote fellowship and teamwork, challenges must be overcome together. River Trekking activity was made a challenge, because members had to move against the river’s current and moreover it was a first time experience for most of the members. The briefing started after lunch and each member was paired up with someone of the same gender, but in a different age category. Each senior was paired up with a junior and briefed to take care of each other and move at a gradual speed together.

Members entered the shallow chilling river, and gave their cooperation. Some officers joined the trek and others watched the line of members moving towards the current from a higher ground (including the photographer). Some of the members experienced muscle cramps and others moved steadily on the slippery river floor. Individual seniors (Committees) were positioned at the front, center and back of the long line to lead and react as quick as possible to members in need of help. The trek lasted at least an hour and everyone stopped for rest at the river bank. Then the members headed out and got back for the next activity.
Tower Construction Competition
This was the last activity of the day. Members including facilitators must work together to construct the tallest and most stable ‘tower’ using only items provided by the surrounding

nature. The officers and some committee members were judges and groups were given a short period of time to complete the task.
Debriefing + Free & Easy The competition ended with a head to head final judging, and the difference on the 2 tallest tower were just a few cm apart. After this, members were given a period of free time. Large group of members had chosen to spend their time in the river, playing and splashing water at each other. At the same time, some officers had prepared light refreshments for the members (Milo cooked with a few portable stoves) and some chocolate cookies. The members were called back and asked to change into their clean clothes, as everyone prepared to leave the area back to school at 1700.
