On the 16th of September, Malaysia Day, 55 boys and 4 officers gathered at Methodist Boys’ School Kuala Lumpur for KUL Games 2017. KUL Games is held once every two years and it is participated by Boys’ Brigade Company in Kuala Lumpur. Early in the morning, 12th KL gathered in the cafeteria before the opening ceremony starts. At around 8.30 a.m., all of us proceeded to the field and got ready for the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was emceed by a sergeant from 1st KL named Zhu Hock. After all the speeches, KUL Games 2017 was officiated by the Principal of MBSKL

The boys in our company went to the respective venues for the sports that they were taking part in. For 12th KL, we had sent teams to almost all the games. This includes, basketball, mini football, volleyball, badminton, also board games like

Chinese chess and international chess.
Throughout the day, the boys worked hard to win their respective matches. Some of them who were not participating in any of the games went around the courts to cheer for their friends. Sadly, our volleyball team didn’t manage to get pass the elimination round even tough they took a win for their first match.
Around 1a.m., most of the boys gathered in the class where we were assigned to put the bags to collect their lunch. After finishing their food, they went back to the courts and got ready for semi-finals.

After all those tough matches, all the teams from 12th kl managed to get into the finals and fight for the 1st placing. Finals, the last match for the best team, were really tough for the boys. All of them played their best against the opponents. At the end, 12th KL managed to get 2nd placing for basketball, mini football and badminton. Where else Chinese chess team managed to obtain both the 1st and 2nd placing.
Right after all the matches had ended, the closing ceremony was conducted. All the winners gotten their medals and KUL Games 2017 was officially ended. All the boys changed into a clean set of clothes, packed their stuff and went back home. It was really a meaningful day for all of us, as we were able to meet new friends and had fun with them through the matches.
