Special Parade - Lion City Bagpipe Performance

On the 6th of May, a special parade was held in Wesley Methodist School Kuala Lumpur (International) in the afternoon. The purpose of this special parade was to give the members a chance to witness how a bagpipe band look like and how is a bagpipe played.
At 1.40p.m., all NCOs gathered at the assembly ground for NCO Fall In. All NCOs ran through the flow of event and tasks were delegated. After that, all NCOs fall out and started setting up the parade ground. L/Cpl. Jasper Chin and L/Cpl. Jonathan Chin arranged chairs at the back of podium for the parents, officers and VIPs to sit. L/Cpl.
Justin Tan was cleaning the canteen with the help of a few recruits. Other than that, chairs were arranged in 9 Beta for the study seminar while L/Cpl. Jayden Tan and Cpl. Hui Zhuan prepared themselves to usher the bagpipers.
At 2.30p.m. sharp, opening parade was
conducted at the assembly ground by Sgt. Nicholas Ng. All NCOs and members fall in at the assembly ground into their respective lines. ‘Negaraku’ and ‘Anchor Song

’ were sung by the members and the
opening prayer was said by Lieutenant Mr. Andrew Tan. After opening parade, all members took their belongings and moved
to 9 Beta.
At 2.45 p.m., Sgt. Ming Yang conducted the study seminar in 9 Beta. He shared his tips on how he studied for his past exams. Most of the members felt the tips he gave them were useful. All of them were happy about it.
Right after the seminar ended, all members went down to the assembly ground. The Lion City Bagpipe Band started with an amazing performance. All members were amazed by the performance. Then, the lead drummer from the bagpipe band had a solo performance. Sgt. Nicholas and Cpl. Hui Zhuan also performed a few songs on behalf of 12th KL.
After the performances ended, everyone had a photo session with the bagpipers. All members, guests and performers had some light refreshment at the canteen. Mineral waters and egg tarts were served. Then, closing parade was conducted by Sgt. Nicholas and members were dismissed after that.
