"I first joined the Boys’ Brigade back in 2003 when I began primary school and ever since then, Saturdays have been associated with waking up early and Friday nights to uniform polishing. I began my membership with the 10th Kuala Lumpur Company, a sizeable one since it was compulsory for the students of the school to join one of two uniformed units.

Hence, upon switching to the much smaller 12th KL Company, which just started operations in WMSKL in 2011, it was inevitable that I became more involved in the inner workings of a Company. The small number of people involved in the leadership team was probably the biggest driving force to improving my involvement in this organisation as well as diversifying my skills as a leader and a co-worker with the rest of the team. Personally, the biggest takeaway that helps me to this day would be learning to work with diverse groups of people, each with distinctive working styles. Undeniably, there were difficult times, which made situations tense and overbearing but ultimately, we grew through them together. I have made some of my best friends through serving in this ministry and I would like to personally thank my colleague, Warrant Officer Wei Jian, for having my back and supporting me throughout this journey. Ultimately, although I have taken a break from my service in this ministry, the experiences made and lessons learnt stay with me till this very day. "
