"A year ago, I was devastated when I found out it was compulsory to join the Boys' Brigade upon enrolling into Wesley. I never really knew what it was as I only thought of it as a boring uniform unit where they only march. Boot camp 2017 was not a friendly introduction to the

Boys' Brigade for me as we had to learn the history of BB and do things which I had little interest in. Nevertheless, after that I still went for parades, but I'm glad that I did as it built my character and made friendships. When it came to Enrolment Day 2017, I was not expecting much as I saw it as a regular event and wanted to get it over with. But when I saw the privates getting their badges and getting promoted, I felt the support and cheering from all the members when they went up the stage. This was when I really felt interested in the Boys' Brigade. I decided to go for the badge courses and had a lot of fun. There weren't many people so we were like a small family having fun together. Right now, I am a squad leader of an awesome squad and a member of an amazing company with caring and supportive friends and officers."
