"My journey in the Boys’ Brigade started with the introduction by our captain, Mr Nicholas Yeap on my orientation day into Form-1 in 2012. Knowing that I'm not the the most talented in sports, I was half forced to join BB is because I needed to join something besides doing

only studies. My first impression perceived on BB was nothing more than any other uniform unit, however I was fascinated by the various activities offered by BB so I attended the parade next week. That basically sums up how I joined BB.
My physical fitness was not at its prime back in primary school, thus I was not allowed to join a lot of outdoor activity. I fell in love with BB after the expedition camp I joined back in March 2012. It was a memorable experience as it was my first real outdoor experience, sleeping on an uneven surface under the night sky, surrounded by trees engulfed by complete darkness. Since then, I have joined many other activities which has definitely improved my fitness level.
I was a very shy person and not used to speaking up, especially in front of public. BB changed that trait of mine during my time in Basic NCOs Training School (BNTS). We were told to propose a dinner plan at Petaling Street which included meal, timing, budgeting and safety. After hours and hours of progressing, our team made no progress. It was then Nicholas Ng and myself came out with a solution to convince the officers. To my surprise, they were convinced and we were allowed to leave for dinner! Through this incident, I realised that ideas kept in one's mind can never be executed as a plan. This has driven myself to speak up more and be more confident while presenting ideas now.

My promotion to Lance Corporal in 2013 has opened up a new insight to what responsibilities and leadership is all about. Reprimands and scolding from the officers are expected as we were still fresh from these duties. However, Looking back, handling demanding tasks and planning events under pressure, I felt that I have matured through overcoming the onslaught of these hurdles. The officers have never failed to encourage and give us continuous guidance along our journey to reaching our goals. To this, I would like to express my utmost gratitude to all the officers who have been patient and shown unwavering support.
BB has also fostered friendships that I still appreciate nowadays. Throughout my years in BB, I have gotten to know a lot more friends whom I still keep a close relationship. I overcame the barrier as an introvert, to know friends of different ages, as well as members from other states, even countries! It's truly motivating to see my used-to-be squad members who knew Want to add a caption to this image? Seeing the members working tirelessly and their dedication is a constant source of inspiration to always improve myself every moment and to serve the company whole heartedly. I truly believe that they can have many more achievements to unlock and I am certain that with their leadership, 12th KL is capable to achieve greater heights.

Joining BB is one of the life defining decisions and a crucial chapter in my life. It has changed me as a person entirely since it was introduced to my life. I have no regrets embarking on this journey with its high and low because I have grown from a shy, reserved boy to be more confident and decisive while remaining composed. The memories and friendship created in the company will be kept close to my heart. I am proud to tell the worls that i came from 12th KL, and 12th KL will always have a special place in my heart. Happy 12th Anniversary, may His blessings continue to shower upon 12th KL!"
